Magnum Photos has teamed up with curatorial platform Plinth and publishing house Actes Sud, for a special pop-up at the Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche in Paris.
At Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, a range of products will be displayed alongside contact sheet prints from Magnum’s extensive archives, which spans seven decades. Highlights to look out for include: ‘Box n°28’ by Wombat, which presents the photographs of Magnum’s 12 female Photographers; a limited edition silk scarf by Chris Steele-Perkins; Martin Parr’s quirky ceramic breakfast trays and a gift card for a weekend street photography workshop from Magnum. Actes Sud, Magnum’s literary partner in France, is showcasing an accompanying collection of glossy tomes including Magnum Photo’s Anniversary Book, ‘Magnum Manifesto’.
As part of Magnum’s 70th anniversary celebrations, the pop-up will also stage a full programme of talks, book signings and other events from some of the agency’s celebrated members. A series of signings and talks will take place with photographers including Stuart Franklin, Richard Kalvar, Thomas Dworzak, Guy Le Querrec, Harry Gruyaert and Jérôme Sessini. The signed contact sheets presented by these photographers will be available for sale exclusively at the event.
